More butterfly firsts for '24: a wonderfully scallopped comma and several speckled woods RSPB Hope Farm, which is always a great place to see a range of butterflies. Also, peacocks, small whites, and lots of cowslips. Lovely. BC Cambs and Essex

What a whopper! Finished up soil sampling with this beauty. Looked at structure via VESS, infiltration, earthworm counts and slake tests

Slake and VESS correlate, but not necessarily with earthworm numbers.
Will share more detail on how we planned our sampling if interested!
