Today the Labor and Liberal Parties voted to continue their support for the genocide occurring in Palestine. Over 27,000 thousand are dead, half of Gaza is levelled and millions are at risk of disease and starvation. When will it be enough for them to call out this atrocity?

The day after @ICJ concluded that Israel is plausibly committing Genocide in Gaza, some states decided to defund UNRWA, collectively punishing millions of Palestinians at the most critical time, and most likely violating their obligations under the Genocide Convention.

Cutting vital aid to people facing a humanitarian crisis can only been seen as an intention to accelerate the number that die and suffer.

States including 🇬🇧🇺🇸 🇨🇦 🇦🇺 🇫🇮 🇮🇹 🇳🇱 that have cut funding for UNRWA & humanitarian aid for Palestinians the day after the ICJ ruled

I spoke on @ABCNews about its firing of Antoinette Lattouf because she posted an @HRW video accurately describing Israel's starvation of Gaza civilians. ABC said it was 'controversial,' a euphemism that seems to apply only to criticism of Israel not Hamas. abc.net.au/listen/program…

Think for a moment how many campaigns groups have run to get ppl like Alan Jones, Andrew Bolt, Sam Newman off air.

Think about how many protests there’ve been outside ABC trying to influence editorial lines.

And consider how Buttrose acted immediately here against Antoinette.

Something that strikes me about Palestinian journalists. They lay press vests on coffins, they wear them to funerals. They are proud of their profession and they honour it. And yet so many journalists are silent about what is happening to them. They deserve our solidarity.

Journalists should remember that Israel's first response after they killed their colleague Shireen Abu-Akleh was to say Palestinians shot her. This is part of a consistent Israeli military information damage control strategy in response to such events.
