How do you examine a modern heat exchanger with a complicated geometry? Our research partners at EPRI are figuring it out. (BTW that is a real researcher hand. Not a hand model!)

PhD candidate Shaun Aakre closely watches the pressure gauge in anticipation of a heat exchanger rupture. This test will help CompRex, a Wisconsin-based company, to commercialize their compact devices in numerous industries.

Molten Salt Reactors are a hot topic among nuclear energy developers. Work started in the 1960's and today a number of start-up companies are working hard to commercialize these design once again. Find more information @ world-nuclear.org/information-li…

Several graduate researchers are presenting their compact heat exchanger work to nuclear energy innovators and regulators today, at MPR Associates. One of many more steps to come toward viable advanced reactors.
