Back in September, we recommended AF Steadman's 'Skandar & the Unicorn Thief' to Harvey in Yr6. He enjoyed it so much, he asked his mum to pre-order the sequel! We love how thrilled he is with his delivery of 'Skandar & the Phantom Rider'-we can't wait to hear his review!📚

Years 4,5 & 6 had a fantastic time at the @MaryAliceEvans author event. We learned about how Maz writes her best-selling books, heard an extract from 'Oh Maya Gods', learned the rules of Pok-a-Tok & laughed. A lot. Thank you to Simon Pollard for organising, we had so much fun!

We share our love of reading every day at NJA, but for #WorldBookDay2024 we had ReadingRocks Book Fair with a free WBD book for ALL pupils 🤩 teachers reading with different classes & our Book in a Jar competition which are all FABULOUS, Mrs F. is finding it hard to judge!🙈

Nelly and Freddie continued some of their ongoing training as Reading Dogs yesterday, whilst simultaneously quality assuring Mr. Slater's reading aloud skills: we are thrilled, but not surprised, to say that he passed with flying colours! 😄#ittakesateamtoraiseareader

Today, we had a visit from Mr. Travis & his family-he attended NJA in 1953!They had a tour of the academy, with Head Pupils-Ida and Ben, & spoke to pupils about his time at school. He also shared his stories about his dad, who was part of the D-Day Landings!

6MA & 5MA visited Carclaze Primary to hear author Eve Wersocki Morris speak about her new book 'Forest of Forbidden Magic'. Eve emphasized the message that everyone is capable of achieving their goals. We were so inspired & left the event feeling empowered to overcome our own obstacles.
