Community Board 8 just voted to support this major redesign of Third Avenue! It will be a huge improvement for cyclists, bus riders, and pedestrians. It’s now to NYC DOT and Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani to “Get Stuff Done.” #bikenyc

Here are anti-OS people in their element, interrupting people talking about lives lost and a reduction of crashes of 41% on 34th Ave by screaming while talking about human lives. Streetsblog New York City

16 neighbors killed by cars in the last 10 yrs in our community, from a 67 yr old senior to a 9 yr old child. Stopping needless deaths starts with safe streets like #34AveOpenStreets. In fact, we’ve seen an astounding 41.7% drop in crashes since it launched 2 years ago. 1/2

"Since 34th Ave became an Open Street, pedestrian injuries are down 42%, even though pedestrian use has increased exponentially. A thoroughfare where children had been hit by cars on their way home from school now provides safe passage for 7,000 students. nydailynews.com/opinion/ny-ope…

I asked NYC DOT about this on a call on Friday and then on Friday night at their BQE North workshop. I said I’d appreciate a response before someone gets seriously hurt. bridges4people has brought this up as a serious issue and we need answers.

The DOT knows that motorists are racing down the Schermerhorn St bike lane, but they've refused to do anything to fix the problem. When will NYC DOT install infrastructure to prevent this from happening? Council Member Lincoln Restler Antonio Reynoso Vincent Barone
