...they are concerned about their child’s socioemotional development. This framing that parents are basing their decision to send their kids to school solely on financial reasons further demonizes/isolate underprivileged families that are trying to set their kids up for success.

This is a nightmare. I am SURE I don't "look" like I am paying attention when I learn-- I draw from that insight to love and support the nontypical learners I teach. Traditional lectures were already awful for people learning disabilities, now this nonsense.
