I’m from Mississippi and I have family members who are sending their kids back to school and it’s not because “they need to go back to work”. The things I here are how their kids can only get future scholarship credits if they are in in-person extracurriculars or how...

...they are concerned about their child’s socioemotional development. This framing that parents are basing their decision to send their kids to school solely on financial reasons further demonizes/isolate underprivileged families that are trying to set their kids up for success.

This is a nightmare. I am SURE I don't "look" like I am paying attention when I learn-- I draw from that insight to love and support the nontypical learners I teach. Traditional lectures were already awful for people learning disabilities, now this nonsense.
