Sorry to hear of ‘Shawsy’s’ fall. Quite a sensitive soul and seen plenty in press boxes. Wishing him all the best in what, hopefully, will be a speedy recovery.

Emery thinks there’s a player in there. He doesn’t trust him yet but if Duran listens and learns, the striker will be a major asset.

I don’t post much anymore but feel the need to on this subject. Please don’t be fooled by the scaremongering regarding the independent regulator and England losing tournaments. They will do anything to stop it coming in and are happy to create misinformation and apply soft power

Rest in peace, ‘Shawsy.’ A brilliant talent on the pitch whose career was never fully-fulfilled because of injury. A welcome sight in the press box - and at Edgbaston - in later years. Gone way too soon, rest easy, Gary.

Watching this from afar, I do like the reaction after the third goal. There’s a togetherness there that hasn’t always been obvious in past seasons. Time will tell.

Speaking to Villa officials last night there was a debate over whether a minute's silence for Gary Shaw would be ruined at this weekend's derby. My own view was to go ahead with it. Wolves fans, proper fans, recognise the loss. I think it would be observed. Thoughts @wolves fans?

Short corner routine works wonders - and Villa have scored their first goal in European football's top competition in 41 years - Youri Tielemans - comes late into the box. Controls and fires home with his right foot. 0-1 (27)

Villa had looked to have closed this game out. Jacob Ramsey pounced after Ollie Watkins intercepted a backpass and was booted up in the air for his trouble. That was 2-0 in the 38th minute and they looked to have a third but Watkins' 'goal' has been chalked off by VAR.

VAR has stepped in to prevent Jhon Duran scoring again. Handball in midfield by Amadou Onana in the build-up. Still 0-2. (80)
