Happy to inaugurate the DC’s Office Complex, Shamator. The complex also houses the offices of the S.P, IPR, DYRO, DPO, & Sericulture. This new facility stands as a symbol of progress, commitment, & our collective resolve to strengthen governance & improve public service delivery.

Conceptualised in 2022-23 following the inauguration of Shamator dist. in March 2022, the DC’s Office Complex marks a key step in building a fully functional admin. system. Its inauguration today bridges critical gaps & lays a strong foundation for efficient dist. administration.

The Office aims to strengthen dist. admin. & governance, improve access to govt. services, enhance inter-dept. coordination, ensure timely implementation of schemes, strengthen revenue, law & order, disaster mngt, reduce dependency & promote balanced socio-economic development.

Happy to be a part of the Tsüngkamnyo Mini Hornbill Festival celebration at Shamator. This festival is not merely a cultural event; it is a living expression of the rich heritage, values, and collective spirit of the Yimkhiung and neighbouring Naga communities.

Shamator, known as the “Brotherhood District” reflects generations of harmony among different tribes, communities, and cultures. Through shared land, festivals, joys and challenges, it stands as a strong example of unity, coexistence, and peaceful living.

Shamator holds special importance as a gateway between dists. & a centre of cultural exchange. With rich traditions, warm hospitality, & scenic beauty, it has great potential for cultural & eco-tourism. Events like this help place Shamator more firmly on Nagaland’s cultural map.

I commend the organisers, the dist. administration, and community stakeholders for their dedication. I extend my special appreciation to the elders and cultural custodians for preserving our heritage, and I urge the youth to take pride in it and apply modern skills to promote it.

I'm saddened to hear about the tragic demise of Maharashtra Dy. CM, Shri Ajit Pawar, & others, who died in a plane crash. His demise is a great loss to Maharashtra & the lives he impacted through his long public service. Condolences to the bereaved families. May their souls RIP.
