A sobering edition of #politicslondon on #Grenfell today - guest edited by Joe Delaney. The complacency in the studio from the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea council leader and local MP was staggering - neither could confirm which buildings in the borough are still dangerous (or when they will be fixed)
Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick visited New Capital Quay in #Greenwich today to see Galliard Homes' work to replace unsafe ACM cladding. The Government expects all building owners to take action to make their buildings safe - as a priority.
YonaSL Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Gov Robert Jenrick Galliard Homes Agree - not sure Galliard Homes should be held up as an example in a shady industry. Also unclear as to how they plan to meet the June 2020 deadline previously discussed for removal of dangerous cladding when their work plan for NCQ is due to run until Aug 2021.
London bound! Today we meet Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Gov for the first time. Over the two month period since the election and Boris Johnson’s new Goverment... more than 170 residents have joined our group, bills have started to land, thousands of £££ have been paid out for waking watches...
For the last 28 mths, all I have felt is worry and anxiety as I live in a home with dangerous #cladding. My life savings have been destroyed by National Fire Chiefs Council @NFCCChair waking watch.I have no hope for the future. Do complete the UK Cladding Action Group mental health survey if you feel the same.
NCQ residents are going to be charged £320+ VAT per flat for an EWS1 form. Open question to other blocks that have had cladding replaced - were you charged for the EWS1 form on a per building or per flat basis? Surely these should be per building UK Cladding Action Group Inside Housing
Lets hope after today’s roundtable meeting leaseholders affected by the #claddingscandal had with Robert Jenrick, that we will see a fund for non-ACM combustable materials announced within the #Budget2020. HM Treasury Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Gov
Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Gov What about those who will loose their homes because they can’t afford waking watches or cladding works? Where is their support package? #EndOurCladdingScandal
