The Leasehold Reform Bill is a crucial step forward.

But it’s also a golden opportunity to set an end date for any new leasehold home, end forfeiture and the fleecehold scam.

Giving people more freedom, choice & power is at the heart of being a conservative

And that's exactly why we are reforming leasehold and freehold estates - stopping monopolies, reforming bad practice and removing rent-seeking

The conservative case for reform is overwhelming:

Almost five years since Hammersmith Bridge - owned by H&F Council - closed to cars, buses and emergency vehicles.

My suspicion all along has been that H&F Council doesn’t actually want the Bridge to re-open.

And that suspicion is born out in today’s Standard News article.

Governments around the world are now trying to imitate the UK Rwanda policy for tackling illegal people trafficking. This bill must be as legally robust as possible - and the right course is to adopt the amendments.

I resigned as I didn’t believe it would. Sir Bill Cash and I have since tabled amendments to create a credible deterrent that will finally stop the boats.

I set out the case for them in The Telegraph ⬇️

The govt really, really do not think that – I cannot emphasise that enough. The NHS budget is up by a third - in real terms - since we came to power.

Plus, the whole point of the money for the Long Term Workforce plan (the first ever, from this govt) is that the NHS doesn’t just

Homicides were at or around 100 per year when Boris Johnson was in his second term as Mayor of London. There have been 1,008 homicides recorded in 2,773 days since Sadiq Khan was elected. That’s over 130 per year. dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1… via Daily Mail Online
