The NPHDB is delighted to receive #InvestorsinDiversity Bronze re-accreditation.

The biome is a focal point of #ourchildrenshospital . As well as capturing natural light, it is a connection point for the hospital.

The design of staff bases in #ourchildrenshospital was greatly informed by Children's Health Ireland staff. Each staff base has a direct viewpoint of its assigned patient rooms and provides a place for multidisciplinary staff to access and update records.

Courtyards/ play areas are located throughout #ourchildrenshospital . As well as being a place of respite & play, the play structures are used to intake air towards the hospital's ventilation system - meaning fresh air throughout the building & a reduction in energy costs.

Applications are now open for the final round of the BAM UK & Ireland new children’s hospital Community Grant Scheme. Funds are available for groups, projects & social enterprises based in Dublin 8 & 12.

The deadline is 11th April 2024.

Some specialist equipment that will be built into the hospital is on site ready for installation. This includes MRIs, CTs, X-Rays, theatre imaging equipment, & automated guided vehicles.

Moving towards completion of #ourchildrenshospital is clear to see in this picture.

Glazing and landscaping increasingly replace scaffolding and cranes on the site. Pictured, you can see how the external façade of the building provides a colourful and family-centric appearance.

Sustainability is a key part of #ourchildrenshospital . The design has been awarded a BREEAM rating of ‘Excellence’, through assessing the sustainability performance of its design. The lightwells located throughout the building help maximise the availability of natural light & air

The new children's hospital's elevated helipad is complete. It is the first elevated helipad in the country and will have rapid and safe access to key areas of the hospital including Critical Care, Theatre and Emergency Depts. It will also be shared with St James’s Hospital.

#ourchildrenshospital is on a 12-acre campus. 4 acres is designated to landscaping, gardens and nature for patients, families and staff to enjoy.

Here you can see that landscaping is well underway and will add colour and nature to the hospital.

#ourchildrenshospital will have more public transport options than any other hospital in the country. This is important for staff, visitors and the 1000s of postgrad students who will study here. The Luas Red Line will stop directly at the hospital (Rialto stop).

Recent visit to New Children’s Hospital to see the progress on the project. It is now expected to be completed 0ct 2024 with commissioning taking a further 6 months

Did you know❓ #ourchildrenshospital will have preschool, primary & post-primary schooling. It will be medically equipped & wheelchair accessible.

Schoolrooms on inpatient units are also planned for children unable to attend the main school due to clinical treatments.
