A1: I like the flexibility of working on things together or independently and seeing that progress is being made. Feedback along the way helps me stay focused. #learnbpschat

A2: Every time I heard “Why do we have to learn this?” it forced me to find ways to connect my content with the real world or else I would lose those kids. “Because it’s MS-PS1-4” wasn’t an acceptable response and sometimes I needed to dig to find a better answer. #learnbpschat

A5: When they bring up a question that I don't know the answer to immediately I'll think aloud throughout my processes for finding the answer/solution. #learnbpschat

A2: I think that organizational skills would be helpful at any level. Having exposure to increased responsibilities also helps kids learn how to manage those responsibilities too #learnbpschat

A3: We emphasize daily routines, collaborative documentation strategies with OneNote, and some collaboration with peers from other class periods through Microsoft Teams. We use our learning management system (Learnbps) as a one-stop shop for all the tools we use #learnbpschat

A1: Nick Holzer from Technology. I remember taking summer school Biology. If we weren't outside learning about something we were inside the lab. Being that hands on is when I feel in love with science. #learnbpschat

A2: Our team was proud to have our student interns from BHS, CHS, and LHS present their work at the legislative showcase at the capital last year. Great students doing awesome things for our district and receiving recognition from all across ND #learnbpschat

A5: If there is interest/talent among the students - organize a battle of the bands. Different focal points for kids to work on: the performance, the set-up (audio, lights, stage, etc...), marketing/advertising, practices, hosting the event, & maybe streaming it. #learnbpschat

A1: Nick from Technology. I would say the opportunities are for sure there, but I could be better at scaffolding them into taking advantage of them. #learnbpschat

A2: Our barriers are burnout on the small stuff and the never ending small stuff. Getting some more students on our team could help prevent them from getting buried in routine repairs and free up some time for exploratory projects. #learnbpschat

A3: Great question, and I think it sort of depends on what the student is ready for. For the group I'm with I think most would be good with free or guided, but there is one that might benefit most from the controlled. #learnbpschat

A1: I think collective efficacy happens quite often in small groups. Departments, PLCs, teams, etc... I think it still happens district-wide or building-wide on some things, but requires more explicit effort to occur #learnbpschat

A3: Documenting, celebrating, and sharing with a team/PLC. Even if things don't turn out quite like I planned there are opportunities to learn, reflect, grow, and share that journey with others so they don't have to stumble on the same things I did. #learnbpschat

Agreed! It can be difficult to hear feedback when personal bias gets in the way. I generally try to stay impartial, but sometimes that person/day/instance can just hit buttons that turn off my ability to receive communication effectively. We are all human :) #learnbpschat

A3: Try not to sweat the small stuff. Disconnect and lose myself in something enjoyable at least once a week; family adventures, a movie, a mtb ride, whoop Micah Davidson in a game, etc... #learnbpschat
