Reading NHS England #GPrecoveryplan interesting that #nursing (over 23,000 working in general practice providing 84m consultations a year) was not seen as a stakeholder or even have any advisory role. Did they really have nothing to add? #ValueNursing england.nhs.uk/wp-content/upl…

Let’s celebrate what we do every day and that’s keep people safe. Safety is first and foremost in what we can do for our patients regardless where they are. So today let’s celebrate we do that to the best of our ability.

I am thinking that as it is working so well that there was significant end user involvement in the design and workflow? Just shows tech can make a difference

Building on .Prof Alison Leary πŸ’™#ProtectNurse about #nursing. The complex nature of nursing and the constant decisions, interruptions and activity’s are not adequately considered. See journals.lww.com/jonajournal/Ab… from Patricia Elbright. Nursing is #complex in all care settings

Low nurse staffing levels increases hospital acquired pressure ulcer risk. 'Risk factors for hosp acq pressure ulcers cannot be modified easily in a short time. Nurse staffing should be set at adequate levels to prevent hospital-acquired pressure ulcers' pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31811735/

This makes me so angry. We have a retention crisis in #Nursing yet people with great skill and expertise-our primary risk managers in the system, our teachers of the next generation-are only rewarded if they manage people and budgets. We need to stop saying this is OK.

I am not a fan of time and motion (it logs task, not context) however the inordinate time clinical staff are spending on EHR is stunning a third-half of their working time. A Time and Motion Study in 4 Specialties | Annals of Internal Medicine acpjournals.org/doi/10.7326/M1…

This is really important. The data is slim and the evaluations very small. We are headlong into this policy from a slim understanding of the impact. If you have numbers or info please contact Prof Leary Thanks
