After wondering whether it ever actually rains on the Isle of Wight it looks like we might be in for a bit if fun on Friday night! Still, it'll be interesting to test out how waterproof the new tent is...

We had some rain in the night. Admittedly only light showers but enough to wet the tent. So considering we didn't weather the Studland before we came away, it's reassuring not to wake up to any puddles or drips. Looks like it's going to face a sterner test tomorrow night though.

Thought it was quiet earlier in the week but most of the few neighbours we had have packed up and gone home so it really is very empty now! Possibly due to the weather (although forecast to improve from tomorrow morning). Expecting more arrivals tomorrow though.

This is a tent just across from us. The occupants were up till dawn talking and playing music (thankfully most of the night the rain drowned them out) and have spent the day asleep while their tent gradually collapses round them. Interesting approach to camping.

Tonight's dinner cooked on the teppenyaki grill. Bit of an experiment with the potatoes but not too much of a disaster. Corn-on-the-cob always the kids (young and old!) favourite.

So it seems the hoardes didn't arrive yesterday as expected after all. Not much change in the view from last week. Not that we're complaining!

Camping's great for people watching. Especially people-putting-up-their-tent watching. Always a curious fascination seeing how long it takes people to get everything set up & what the end result looks like. Followed by either feelings of smug satisfaction or envy!

Walking to work but brain still in camping mode. Lots of caffeine required today I think. Although preferably of the iced variety!

Contemplating cancelling our next camping trip as the forecast is for rain every day so far. Hard to know whether to risk it and hope it improves (which of course it could still do) or cut our losses. We've camped in the rain before, but a whole week of it might be a bit much...
