ZAPORIZHZHIA NUCLEAR: LOSS OF KAKHOVKA DAM Zaporizhzhia NPP, Europe's largest, draws cooling water from a reservoir whose dam is now severely damaged. All six reactors are off & cold. Almost no cooling water needed. Unfolding event, but not a serious risk for nuclear accident.

Pro-tip: If you’re called to testify in front of a congressional committee, maybe make sure you have the facts to back up your absurd claims. Or better yet, admit the science doesn’t support pushing gender transition on our kids.

Paying wind farms to not-produce power (paying for curtailment) apparently leads to some exaggerations about what they WOULD have produced. Almost unbelievable. /sarcasm

Biden will not renominate Jeff Baran to NRC. Huge win for nuclear/Breakthrough. Me in HuffPost: “It’s pretty clear for first time maybe ever that Democrats recognize we need reform at NRC... that technology can’t succeed if NRC continues to approach this in way it historically has.”

So excited to see my favorite light water SMR making such great progress! Thinking heavily upfront about constructibility and operability is going to save a lot of heartache for the FOAK units. Great work!!! Holtec International

This is why New England needs to build new power plants to meet its own demand. In extreme weather events, we cannot rely on neighbors because they will likely be facing high demand for electricity as us.
