I like The House of the Dead's final game over screen. Looks like someone slumped over and died while scribbling with a pen (at least, that's how I interpret it). The unused prototype game over screen looks more cartoonish. Glad it got the axe. #sega #arcade

I've always wondered what happened to all those House of the Dead 4 Special arcade cabinets. They were massive and eye-catching. Would be a shame if they were destroyed, especially given how awesome the outside artwork and the giant sign looked. #sega #arcade

I'm guessing this unused cutscene was for when The World emerges outside the Goldman Building. I don't recall The House of the Dead 4 having any other unused cutscenes. But there's a few unused voice lines... Those need to be documented at some point. #sega #arcade

Seems like if the rear-projection monitors for these CRT-based light gun games have issues, you're in for a rough time. These games won't work with LCDs (at least, on original hardware) and parts are hard to come by. #sega #retro

Here's an original Evil Night shotgun. Bought this on eBay years ago, but I need to wire it up to my cabinet. I think Crypt Killer (another 3-player Konami light gun game) used this shotgun too.

More weekend pinball fun. Focusing on Stranger Things as I need to practice that game more.

Today's Stranger Things pinball derust session went well -- put up 2.3 billion and reached the "Send It Back" wizard mode.

Some of my favorite light gun shooter elements: - Satisfying feedback when shooting things. - Branching paths. - Fun/rewarding scoring systems. - Brisk pacing. Not a fan of the modern light gun games that are impossible to beat without dying. I prefer the skill-based games.
