Patients are suffering. Nurses are suffering. How much longer can we continue like this? Working conditions are so bad that a colleague started her shift in tears. It's indeed a shame that this is what healthcare looks like in a so-called "developed" nation.

These patients need constant monitoring so it's hard for the nurses who just worked 12hrs to walk away when there's no replacement at shift change. So there's not much choice other than to stay back for 16hrs. This is how they keep preying on nurses. Exploitation!

I can’t help but think about nurses and the “fear they have about an illegal strike”. I just stood with some of the most powerful and respected folks in education and their response is “we are doing this for our kids”. Shouldn’t nurses be doing this for patients and families? 1/

Honestly, as an RN in Ontario, Doug Ford is the LAST person I want any praise or thanks from. Actions speak louder than words, and his actions have harmed my passion, my profession and the most vulnerable people in our population. Him asking how we are coping makes me sick.

I woke up to a number of disturbing messages from HCW friends. One MD lost a “healthy” pediatric patient (7 yrs old) to an unknown stomach virus. Said the ER staff is “traumatized.” Wrote: “The news is not covering any of what we’re witnessing— CDC Director has failed us.”

Toddler dies on a hospital floor in the ED of the Ajax Hospital. A 4 year old is flown 350 km in search of an ICU bed. Silence from Dr. Moore, Doug Ford CMOH. Will Ford come out tomorrow & tell parents to stop "whining"?
