Successful inservice day! I remembered all of my passwords and helped to finish off the Christmas chocolates in the staff base 💪🏼 Also had workshops from our teaching and learning group, and a good update from our positive relationships working group. Roll on 2023!

N5 biologists demonstrated their microscopy skills and steady hands today when learning about the structure of the leaf. We managed to clearly see the green stomata on the underneath of Tradescantia leaves 🔬

From learning about seed dispersal to photosynthesis and starch testing, the S3 biologists have been busy this week 🌱Special mention to a group of my S2 students for gifting me Billy the papier-mâché bird 😆 A welcome addition to the classroom!

It was a very colourful day today to celebrate Purple Friday! ☺️ Our Dalkeith High School pride flag was looking very good too! 🏳️‍🌈

This afternoon I’m reflecting on the versatility of the balloon! From demonstrating static electricity with my S3 physics class to recapping the pH scale with my S2s there were lots of great discussions… and of course the Higher Human Biologists had to have some fun, too! 🎈😄
