An independent review, you say? In 2018, the government promised an independent review of criminal legal aid. Then delayed it until 2020. Then sat on the report until 2022. Then Dominic Raab refused to implement the report’s urgent recommendations. bit.ly/3XcfCBD

It’s not a “pandemic backlog”. It’s a backlog caused by government cuts. Exacerbated by the government’s bungling of the response to the pandemic. And sent skyrocketing by Dominic Raab’s decision to refuse to follow his own independent report. Some honesty, please. 👍
