It has been a great first week!

This week in math, our class created beetle glyphs using a legend. We sorted our beetles and created various Venn Diagrams with them. Each student also created a clue card riddle for other students to “guess the beetle”.

This week, we Zoomed each other in our own classroom, went on a color hunt in the Westmoor garden to practice taking pictures using Seesaw, and got creative playing a math game from 6 feet apart.

Playing an imaginary friend or while social distancing, math games are still a lot of fun!

While working on our small moment narratives, we “turned and talked” about ideas and used a flow map to organize our writing.

What a beautiful day to enjoy reading and writing in the Westmoor garden!

Halloween fun! Costumes, party crafts, and “zoomed in” readers!

Despite lots of blowing papers, we have enjoyed several days of Writer’s Workshop outside. So thankful for warm November temperatures!

Science fun... snow volcanos!

We learned a new math workplace today. Students had so much fun playing one another and even discovered a few equivalent fractions!

We are asking questions about pictures to push ourselves to think deeply and be metacognitive. This will help us develop as better readers and writers.

We finally made it to peer revising and editing for our first informational writing this year. We developed our checklist together as a class to make sure we included what was important to us.
