What a busy but great first week in my new school. Really enjoyed introducing our new topic of Light and Sound today! Looking forward to explore with the kids through activities and experiments.

What a brilliant writing session we had today. The class was transformed into a cafe to develop some WOW words linking to our senses while we sampled some tasty treats. The class then wrote about a time they had been to a cafe, where it was and who they were with.

After listening to Nik & Eva Speakman with Vicky Pattison, I loved their secret of turning a negative into a positive using the phrase ‘but, luckily’. I spoke to my class about it today and they all created their own positive statements that are usually negative. #growthmindset

Completed a course with EduSpark about Padlet and now can’t wait to implement it more into my class!

Today we had a wonderful Outdoor Day! We started off creating natural pictures of animals, using resources we found around the school ground. One group even made a whole scene.

P1-4 - Book Week Scotland. Our book for the week is Me and My Fear by Francesca Sanna. Today we used it as a stimulus to learn about rights. We discussed the difference between needs and wants and how about the ‘right to play’ is.

Recently finished Gavin’s most recent book - Life Will See You Know. I highly recommend it to everyone and anyone! A brilliant way to look at some many different things in today’s complex world. Very funny but also emotional at the same time. Go read it!!
