To support staff development I have collated 16 effective teaching habits, with a mixture of Teach Like a Champion and some homemade. Each habit has a rationale and some tips to success and would be used alongside exemplar videos of each habit in action. drive.google.com/file/d/10n6WjX…

I've written a series of three blogs framing four persistent problems of PD and how we might attend to them: Pt.1 saysmiss.wordpress.com/2023/08/29/pro… Pt.2 saysmiss.wordpress.com/2023/08/30/pro… Pt.3 saysmiss.wordpress.com/2023/08/31/pro… I’ll be at #REd23 next Saturday to speak further on needs-informed PD!

Lovely personal blog by Caroline Spalding on deputy headship. Yes - school leadership is about doing, improvement planning, PD etc. But doing it well is so much about people. ‘Teacher's Notes: One year down as a Deputy Head: teaching is a people business’ mrscspalding.blogspot.com/2023/09/one-ye…

This work by Kent Wetzel is fabulous - using the configurability of Walkthrus resources to make an interactive tool delving into Rosenshine for his district colleagues. We'll be making it available on the website soon.

I think looking at quotations in pairs can be really impactful - particularly in texts where there’s a clear before and after in terms of character development. I’m working on a resource that helps explore the idea of paired lines and mirroring 🥰✨

I’m aware that I said I would discuss how we’ve changed our KS3 assessments & then ghosted everyone, sorry. I will write a longer post about them but essentially: • x3 assessments a year • Assessing skills & knowledge separately • No GCSE style questions Here’s some pics

🧵 THREAD! Since introducing these one-pagers in my school in 2022, I’ve seen teachers’ engagement with evidence informed ideas sky-rocket. Teachers are time-poor, so distilling important ideas into an easily digestible format offers a practical solution. Here are 7 ways
