Let’s explore what happens around our building! Students were asked “what happens here and how do we know” then we used this skill to study what fossils can tell us about the past! Amazing insights from my 5th grade panthers today!!!

Love when students ask if they can use their recess time to keep exploring fossils! Learning does not only happen in the classroom!

Ending our unit on force and motion by designing roller coasters and looking for pushes and pulls! I was so impressed when a group called out “WE NEED MORE FRICTION” to keep their marble on the track. What a fun way to go into the break- happy thanksgiving!

Using group roles from our PLC this week to guide student conversations in geometry! Love watching them take ownership of their learning and keep their teams on task!

What happens when your student doesn’t want to present because he didn’t have time to put together a costume? It’s all hands on deck to make one with what you have in the classroom! Presenting Alexander Hamilton!

“Mrs.Gray I mean Mrs.Castaneda I mean”. Our students are always mixing us up so we thought we’d have some fun with it today!

One of my favorite things to do is to hold my student’s responsible for nominating our panthers of the month and ultimately our Panther of the year. This ensures that I am not “playing favorites” but also teaches my class what defines excellence in our class community.
