We have normalized a culture of teacher burnout. Instead of putting pressure on teachers to engage in self care, we need to put pressure on those that create systems that have led to the burnout! Create a system that allows teachers to rest!! ⁦⁦Tyrone Howard⁩

It takes a monster to kill children. But to watch monsters kill children again and again and do nothing isn’t just insanity—it’s inhumanity.

The House has taken a significant step to curb gun violence by passing a bill to require background checks. Senate Republicans need to stop playing politics with the lives of our children — every day that they wait, more people die. That’s unacceptable.

To all the teachers like me, the ones barely holding themselves together, who are getting ready to teach this morning: Bless you. Bless us. May we find some way to keep keeping on, one day at a time.
