Two days ago, NYPD tased and shot inside his own home a 19-year-old man who lived with a chronic psychotic condition. He'd called 911 to ask for help as he experienced a crisis. Police tased and killed him while his mother was hugging him the whole time to try to comfort him.

Dr. Christina Cross is a valuable member of the ASA Family Section community and an esteemed scholar. The attacks against her are politically motivated and racist and we condemn them in the strongest possible terms.

So thankful to be awarded the Katharine T. Bartlett Distinguished Professorship at Duke. Kate is brilliant scholar, an extraordinary teacher, dean, and mentor. She also chaired the hiring committee the year I was hired. I am honored my distinguished professorship bears her name.
