Social scientists leading public use data sets explain that my colleague Christina Cross is following good scientific practice in describing the datasets she uses. To call this anything other than good practice is a marker of scientific ignorance, intentional slander, or both.

Dear Rep. Elise Stefanik:
Last week you challenged Ivy League presidents to denounce antisemitism with “moral clarity” by answering yes/no questions. Dissatisfied by their answers, you agitated for their removal. What about tolerance for antisemitism among presidential candidates?

My brilliant friend and former student Chana Teeger has a new article out on students learning about apartheid in South African schools. Such important research, with many implications for current politics around teaching about race in the U.S.

I have served on many NIH study sections to peer review grant applications. Even though we spend hours and hours preparing and we work in conference rooms from 8 AM to 5 PM, they are not allowed to provide coffee, much less lunch, because it is against ethics rules.

The great sociologist and political scientist and my friend Theda Skocpol saves a mailman from wild turkeys. And no, this is not April Fools. Those turkeys never stood a chance.

As I sit here crying for my family & our loss of Jaime 5 years ago in Parkland, I'm watching the press conference in Michigan where treating physician is crying. Gun violence breaks families & breaks communities. BEFORE IT IS YOUR LOVED ONE, DEMAND WE FIX THIS ONCE & FOR ALL.

On plan
Good:
- new parole for Cubans Haitians Nicaraguans (though its limited and restricted)
Bad:
- expanded Title T42 ban on asylum seekers
- transit ban requires people to seek asylum in countries they pass through even if there's no functioning system there

If more guns and fewer gun laws made us safer, America would be the safest nation in the world.

But 400,000,000 guns in the hands of civilians coupled with weak gun laws have given us a 25 times higher gun homicide rate than any peer nation.

It’s the fucking guns.
