If you’re as sad I am regarding Rickey Henderson’s passing. This highlight package is surely going to bring your spirits. He would want us to remember how great he was. #RIPRickeyHenderson

I don’t have the words yet … I loved Rickey dearly … All the nights at our house on High Street … Too much fun … (Teenagers) Rickey was the embodiment of inspiration … I’m gonna miss him immensely … A true Representative of The Town … Oakland’s Own … Love Rickey to

"One year, he drove me in 79 times. Did you hear what I said? Seventy-nine times. He would do anything to get me in. You'd have to throw the ball over Don Mattingly's head, for him not to get Rickey in. Dave Winfield used to get mad at him. He'd say, `Now, you ain't the only one

Rickey Henderson loved the Metrodome…hit 12 HRs, 44 RBIs & had 59 stolen bases there. All are career highs for any road park he played at. #RIP

2004: No MLB team wanted Rickey. So he signed with the Newark Bears & in 405 PAs at age 45 he hit .281/.462/.436 with 37 stolen bases in 39 attempts.

A reporter asked Rickey Henderson if Ken Caminiti’s estimate that 50% of Major League players were taking steroids was accurate. His response was, "Well, Rickey’s not one of them, so that’s 49 percent right there."

A question that needs to be debated and AT LEAST considered. This is for all you catching gurus, MLB Network guys, podcasters, coaches, and wouldn’t mind hearing from you pitchers on this subject. Best part of automated strike zone I see is a pitcher might regain a target!

Adam Wainwright (@unclecharlie50) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Clayton Stivers MLB Network I guarantee you a pitcher would get more low strike calls when his eyes were able to exactly identify what the bottom of the zone is with a target than having to completely rely on muscle memory that gets him in the general vicinity. No target = soft focus = deep counts = XBH =

Yep. If catchers keep their target on location vs yanking it mid windup will go a long way with helping a pitchers visual. I’ve been on this horse for a while. Think about shooting a gun at a target. If you see the target through your scope and all of a sudden it disappears

🚨 Skenes - Quantifying Success • 1st pitch strikes • 2/3 pitches for strikes • A result in 3 pitches or less ⭐️ Early action is a starting pitcher’s best friend. Attack the zone & stay in control of the count.
