My 6yo went to a friend’s house and announced in the kitchen that “his mom uses curse words”. His friend’s mom told me it was fucking hilarious and that’s how you know you’ve found a mama friend you can vibe with.

My son asked to go to an amusement park for his birthday so he could ride roller coasters. We went. He didn’t feel like riding them. We came home. He is now watching roller coasters online and asking when we can go back. That sums up parenting pretty well.

Not all your students come to class wanting to learn… but they all come wanting to belong. And when they feel like they belong… they’re much more likely to learn.
