Correct. USS Avenger was (perhaps still is) a chapter of the Starfleet fan organization, & as I recall laid claim to ‘first ship of her class’ during the “dark ages” between TOS films & TNG. Any fanon about “Avenger class” has since been superseded by Miranda class in canon.
