I wrote a little bit about anti-intellectualism in British politics here, but at some point I’d like to update it with more explanation of how this became part of a culture war of deriding all arts and humanities academic research as simply “woke” nonsense

Great to listen, learn + speak at this panel. I focused on the need for a people-centred approach which is inclusive of and can validate people’s emotional attachments to their places. Thanks createstreets Onward Labour Together for invite + excited for day 2 of #Restitch24
Amazing also to hear from Khalilah Zakariya 🍉 about what a sense of community means, including speaking about community integration and the fulfillment of needs.
Thank you to all our speakers today!
We also heard from Michael Howcroft who talked about pride in place beyond measuring and metrics.
Michael spoke about an upcoming policy brief calling for more flexible processes so local authorities and stakeholders can self-define key terms like 'pride in place'.
It's great to hear from Mhairi Bowe SocPsy about a social identity approach to health. Studies, among others, looked at community identity during volunteering and mutual aid as well as the power of community for wellbeing and loneliness, and health service use during social prescribing.
