My favorite part of the week has become the moments building up to the release of the Bureau for Economic Research (BER) weekly release that explains what economic indicators to look out for in the week ahead. I suppose it's a silver lining to the end of the weekend.
Maybe Cyril Ramaphosa 🇿🇦's heavily criticised default to semi-privatisation is not so bad after all?! Freight transportation on the rise in South Africa - a flippen good sign! 👍
Great news from Statistics South Africa (Stats SA). SA's inflationary pressure seems to have eased. Also good to hear SA Reserve Bank chose not to hike repo rate. Transnet also finally concluded agreement with a private partner, which will hopefully result in faster movement of goods across the country.
“Powerful leaders think about culture all the time. If done well, everything relates back to the culture, from how we set priorities to how we get buy-in from people to how we show up as a community.” — NAHJ - University of California Berkeley Senior Assistant Dean Courtney Chandler.
How absolutely embarrassing to see Jo'burg Metro Police Department - JMPD officers scattered around Sandton CBD, totally oblivious to what's going on around them because they're consumed by whatever is happening ontheir phones. Whats the point of their presence if this is all they're going to do?!
Just witnessed a bribe being handed over at approximately 11:12 to security guard at 1st aile at the domestic security check-in at ORTambo! Airports Company SA Minister of Environment, Forestry & Fisheries 🇿🇦. It's scary to think that this happens. What security risks are we exposed to when we're at the airport?
Close to half of the water you pay for is lost by the ANC - African National Congress-led City of Joburg.
Without the right leadership, we're all rushing to get nowhere in our efforts to restore the City of Joburg.
Joburg needs structural reform, not quick fixes. I share some of my thoughts on what the core problems are in the City of Joburg in the Business Day today. I believe that the most pressing issue is a lack of leadership to steer the city out of this mess. businesslive.co.za/bd/opinion/202…
