Taxes aren’t there to fund public works, they’re to coerce people to work for the govt. It creates the money to settle accounts. The real tax is the labour diverted to carry out these works. But that’s not a criticism, because we all benefit from 1st class public services.

The rights of jurors is an ancient tradition, it’s as British as it gets - why would any government at this stage of an election cycle contemplate this?
