Crucial though is ensuring those texts are visible in lessons. By no means have we included every one, but to have snippets of some it provides the chance to link back to the recommendations and promote further engagement which has a major impact. 📚#historyteacher

One change made this year was how we review classwork. With a focus on reducing workload/increasing impact we gave the ‘Classwork Check Up’ sheet a run. Teacher ticks the relevant statements in each section. Whole class feedback on spelling/wider misconceptions. #historyteacher

It you are looking to get some local history into your curriculum then ‘A Street Near You astreetnearyou.org/#=undefined&la… is a good place to start. You can very quickly build up a database of soldiers from your town who lost their lives during World War One #historyteacher

Genuinely interested to know why history is chosen more for deep dives in primary and secondary over other subjects like geography?

If you’re teaching interpretations and were looking at the work of a historian to frame it/as an entry point, this isn’t bad at all. Sharing for chums who teach history. Don’t like it? Scroll on 🤝

My guided practice book is my favourite way of teaching. Live modelling everything to hold myself and the students accountable 🙌🏼

We have just had our first data entry for Y13. As HoD, I have sat down with 12 students who are clearly not where we or they want them to be. They filled out this in advance of some 1:1 chats with me and Y13 Parents Evening next week. Illuminating...

Does anyone run a programme of History Ambassadors in your school? If so any advice on how to structure it? I’m thinking assemblies, projects around themed months, displays etc. #historyteacher

Started our study of Superpower Relations last week and I’ll be using the ‘two slide summaries’ from last year. There is a huge amount of content/short amount of time, so to offer chunked resources for homework/revision will hopefully help knowledge retention. #historyteacher

After seeing Fiona Sheriff 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧🌍 's fabulous idea 💡 I have started putting together my own for AQA Geography. "If asked about..." "Write about..." definitely a working progress, but a good project now mocks are finished. #aqa #geography #geographyteacher #examprep #year11

These Medicine, Germany and Am West recalls came in useful last year for Y11 exams and Y10 mocks. There are also some Early Elizabethan England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🌹 👑 questions in the following link: docs.google.com/file/d/1vfoaMG… 🌵 🏥 #EdexcelHistory #HistoryRevision #HistoryTeacher #Education 🍎

Guided Reading - ‘History doesn't repeat itself, but it often rhymes.’ How valid is this statement when talking about the Spanish Flu pandemic of 1918?docs.google.com/presentation/d…
