OTD 1961 Nicholas Silver (28/1) became only the second grey horse to win the Grand National, (The Lamb in 1868 & '71). Trained by Fred Rimell & ridden by Bobby Beasley won by 5 lengths from 1960 winner, Merryman II, O'Malley Point & Scottish Flight in 4th. πŸ‡#RacingMemories

Lincoln Handicap - 1986. K-Battery (No. 9 -John Lowe) at 25/1 gave Malton-based trainer Bill Elsey a second win in the historic race (Double Cream - Edward Hide in '71). Peter Easterby's Well Rigged finished 2nd followed by Newmarket horses Fusilier & Xhai. πŸ‡#RacingMemories
