For years Welsh farmers have had to put up with a Welsh Labour Government that doesn’t understand rural areas or the hardship farming families have to go through to put food on our table. Now it has a UK Government seems committed to making the situation even worse.

Rachel Reeves' "budget for growth" actually LOWERS growth forecasts for future years. The OBR growth forecasts are lower than they were in the spring statement. That's what happens when you focus tax rises on jobs and small businesses.

This budget fails to offer an ambitious vision for Wales. It punishes small businesses, will be a disaster for family farms and fails to deliver the consequential funding in transport Wales is rightfully owed from projects like HS2 and Northern Power House Rail.

The Government is still ignoring the elephant in the NHS waiting room: the crisis in social care. It's time to end the dither and delay and begin cross-party talks on social care now. Otherwise we will never truly fix our NHS.
