OTD in 1964 Barry Briggs, arguably the clubs best ever rider, made his debut for the Robins in an Easter Cup match against Oxford @ Sandy Lane. He had joined the club from Southampton after their track @ Bannister Lane had been sold for redevelopment. Swindon is a Speedway Town.

OTD in 1964 Mike Keen made his debut for the Robins against local rivals Oxford. Mike, one of the most popular riders to ever wear the famous Robins race jacket would give the club 12 years of loyal service before being forced into early retirement through injury.
