It’s so important that as GPs we don’t get pushed into only dealing with presenting complaints and prioritise urgent access and policy makers remember the breadth of skill and expertise we bring to each whole person consultation

But on BBC Radio 4 Today the SoS for Work & Pensions Mel Stride says that GPs are “doing a fantastic job” and admits there’s no evidence behind the govt’s assertion that a “large proportion” of fit notes are issued without any sort of review
