Students from Kershaw Pre-K toured Fire Station 6 and learned how to react during a fire emergency. The students had fun seeing the firefighters work around the station and the gear and equipment used on a fire scene. Near the end of their tour, they got to see the fire trucks.

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc paid a visit to Fire Station 4 and delivered an assortment of food items for them to enjoy. Part of their mission is community service and this was a small token to say thanks to the firefighters for what they do in service to the community.

MFR attended Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Holt Street Baptist Church Museum. The Historical Society aims to preserve the history of the movement through the creation of a museum where thousands gathered in support of the bus boycott. After the ribbon cutting, attendees went on a tour.

🚒 Overnight 9/8, MFR responded to a structure fire in the area of Chestnut St. Crews found an abandoned single-story home fully involved. A defensive attack brought the fire under control for 10 minutes. No injuries reported. Cause under investigation. #MontgomeryFireRescue

Montgomery Fire/Rescue is actively responding to a Second Alarm Commercial Building Fire in the 4400 block of Selma Highway, directly across from Montgomery Regional Airport. Crews are making steady progress in containing the fire but delays are likely.
