The introduction of Voter ID has been shown to reduce turnout. This is bad for our democracy. Today I raised my concerns about the policy with the Minister in the Urgent Question debate.

New website launched tonight #StopTheTories Put in your postcode and it will tell you details of your council ward, and how to vote tactically on May 4th to STOP THE TORIES. It's very good. RT RT RT Maybe Question Time could give it a mention? 🤔 stopthetories.vote

UK economy is performing worse than Russian's. It means being embedded in an illegal war and being under sanctions from the entire globe is still somehow not as bad for your economy as suffering from 13 years of Tory government. Never #VoteConservative

This is somehow heart-breaking & uplifting at the same time. I hope they hold their parents & grandparents to account. Nobody else is.

ITV reports “polling station tellers in Oxfordshire say "large numbers" of voters were being turned away, reporting that between 10-25% were unable to vote.” There was almost no voter fraud in the UK. There is now, and it is officially sanctioned. itv.com/news/2023-05-0…

This is not what Britain is - and not what British police are. This is our police being used as government enforcers for a government over-obsessed with controlling culture whilst preaching an alarm around the protection of free speech.

That percentage applied to the 2019 General Election would have meant 384,000 people being turned away. And that figure wouldn't include people who didn't even go the polling station in the first place because they knew they didn't have the right ID. theguardian.com/politics/2023/…

This is incredible. Am due to do @bbc @politicslive today and I think Kate Winslet social media speech is on the agenda. But this is what we should be discussing if we are doing the BAFTAS surely ?

Boris Johnson was deposed in disgrace by his own ministers after his serial lying & dissembling finally stung the most supine & sycophantic politicians in U.K. history into action. He can’t really ‘honour’ anyone, can he?

ALASTAIR CAMPBELL (@campbellclaret) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The Johnson dishonours list further debases our political life. And Sunak enabled it because of his weakness and lack of professionalism, accountability and integrity. He will seek credit for blocking some of the even more ridiculous suggestions that Johnson made. But they are1/3

If you were given an honour by a man who that very day resigned from parliament in disgrace after a report by his fellow MPs would you keep it?

Boris Johnson’s “landslide”? 2017 Theresa May 42.4% 13,636,624 2019 Boris Johnson 43.6% 13,966,451 Johnson added just 1.2% or 329,767 extra votes It was WHERE he gained votes + FPTP that gave him an 80 seat “landslide”. He wasn’t massively more popular. That’s a myth.
