We as South Africans demand the same urgency given to COVID19 by government to be directed to the slaughter of women in South Africa. It is a pandemic and the numbers are even worse. The same power used to ban cigarettes and alcohol will do.

It's day 80 of lockdown. So almost all workers in salons, hairdressers, spas, restaurants, bars, hotels, BnB's and events companies are looking at their third month of no income. And no help, either, while Mme Zulu & co profess themselves surprised at the devastation around them

Haunted by this. What books, research & data are those in charge, reading? Which experts do they interact with as they explore solutions? Who DID NOT know that Covid would hit the poor the most? No wonder delivery is an afterthought. No links between OBVIOUSLY related factors

Had an interesting morning with Dwyka Mining Services where they showed off Spot the robot dog. Dwyka is the official reseller of the robotic dog in South Africa.

Dwyka is marketing the dog's capabilities to a variety of industries, including mining. The robot is seen as an ideal solution for entering no-go zones or hazardous areas, proving more reliable in tight spaces than aerial drones.

Spot attracted quite the crowd at the CTICC, where the Mining Indaba is currently taking place. It even took part in a pushup competition

Elon Musk is buying Twitter for $44 billion, mainly for egotistical reasons. With half that amount, he could’ve paid off Eskom’s entire debt burden. And then could’ve ended South Africa’s 15-year power crisis in a few months by installing Tesla big batteries. One can dream.

We are all here on this planet, as tourists, as it were. None of us can live here forever. The longest we might live is a hundred years. So while we are here we should try to have a good heart and to make something positive and useful of our lives.
