Is 100G QSFP28 backward compatible with 40G? #100G #QSFP28 (4x25G) form factor has just 4 electrical lanes. A 100G QSFP can only support a 4x10G or 4x25G electrical interface, which can be used as 4x10GbE or 4x25GbE, instead of 10x 10GbE.

Q: If I attach the #QSFP28 #CWDM4 optic to the 1310nm channel on the MUX, can I get 100G out of the other MUX on the other end? A: Yes, it can be connected to 1310 special port of CWDM #MUX/DEMUX for signal transmission. It uses 1271, 1291, 1311, & 1331nm with 1310 port ± 50nm.
