One of the best things about the NHS is its diversity. I love that I have/do work with amazing people from different religions, cultures & countries. My life & career is all the better for it & our patients benefit from the rich knowledge they bring.

The Nursing and Midwifery Council has been promising to change things since a report in 2008. Now in 2024 the same issues racism, discrimination & suicides continues. 1. The way you make/laugh off sexist jokes sends a message to those present that misogyny and sexism is acceptable. It perpetuates a culture of it. 2. The way you tell girls to cover up sends a message that their bodies are inherently sexual defining them as a sexual object.

Not all men, but Gisèle Pélicot’s husband who reportedly drugged and raped her for over 10 years. Not all men, but 90+ male strangers, most living within 1km of her home. Not all men, but men with STDs and HIV who didn’t use condoms. Not all men, but her 'polite' neighbour.

Some women are so friggin brave and strong. (And what is it with men? I know it’s not all men, but it’s nearly always men).

Oh my god it is all connected. Also connected to a male ex president who stripped away women’s reproductive rights. Schools who constantly scrutinise girls skirt lengths without addressing the real issue. (Just two of my current issues that make me fume)

My issue with porn always has & always will be around consent. You never know if the people in videos have truly consented. I know 2 women who were victims. One, manipulated into appearing & another a victim of revenge, where her videos were posted after she rejected him. 😡

Frank, get the door! Really sad to hear this. She was a fantastically clever comic who spoke up for those often unheard of and she brought humour to those often depressing Covid briefings. She will certainly be missed.
