Snowing in March is becoming a regular occurrence, it should be a wake up call for those sceptical of the climate emergency. The science is clear, we need urgent action to save our habitable biosphere.

The British media is dismantling the legitimacy of the SNP and in turn, dismantling the legitimacy of Independence. British media hegemony has a firm grasp on the constitutional future of Scotland. This should be a lesson for Ireland.

Chancellor’s Budget is focusing on growth. The same economic growth plans that landed us in this mess. The same economic growth that is destined to line the pockets of millionaires. ‘Healthy Growth that pays for our NHS and Schools’ while we continue to slash their budgets.

Sunak is set to release his tax returns at 4. Johnson defends himself at the ‘partygate’ committee hearing. Yet, I have no doubt, that the media will be focusing on Brexit instead of Tory government controversy. As it has done now for over 7 years…

Interesting read- but entirely out of touch with the conversations in our local communities. Pragmatic politics will be central to the creation of a New Ireland. Working on behalf of all citizens isn’t weakening our republicanism- it’s strengthening common consensus for change

I’ve been a week away from Ireland and I’m starting to miss defusing the unspoken tension in a taxi with ‘Busy tonight?’

If you look at the neo-liberal convergence in Britain, it’s entirely conceivable that the NHS is doomed. Fixing the current crisis by seeking other arrangements is what Trade Unions are for. They fight back when political parties fail to take action. This model is failing.

As the Protocol Rhetoric picks up again in the media it’s worth remembering that the Assembly can vote to maintain or scrap Articles 5 to 12; which deal with customs and single market regulations. The boycott can’t fix the problem, entering an Executive can.

The recent flooding has to be a penny drop moment of the severe impact of the climate crisis. The situation will get worse if we don’t take action. We need solutions, not more stalling.

The ‘Ireland 2023’ proposal indicates key steps to aide the conversations on Unity. An ambitious document with a clear roadmap towards a New Ireland emphasising the need for political & civic structures to have their say. We now need inclusive participation and deliberation.

I’m delighted that my research, “Constituting a New Ireland: Identity and Recognition beyond Consociational Boundaries,” has been accepted for presentation at the 76th PSA International Conference. I’m looking forward to contributing to the growing discussions of a New Ireland.
