I just want to be really clear about the situation here. 60 Minutes, the most venerable news program in the country, will run a long interview with Kamala Harris tomorrow. Her opponent won’t be featured in the same news special because he backed out of the interview.

Kamala Harris has an obligation to make her case to voters. Sometimes, that will include interviews with the Beltway press. But the harsh reality is that they don’t have the audience any potential president needs to win a national election. She needs to go where the people are.

If data suggested that doing an ABC interview every day until election day would reach the voters needed to win, both campaigns would probably do it. The fact that they decided to spend this much time doing podcasts says more about national media's reach than anything else.

Always love the “Democratic strategists” who choose anonymity in these because they either don’t fully believe what they’re saying, or they think she still might win and want to stay on the good side if she does. Paragons of integrity and bravery, same as it ever was.

Right now the Trump campaign is saying the Fox interview was bad for Harris. At 1 am, Trump is going to contradict them and start attacking Fox for giving Harris airtime and letting her deliver a compelling message to their audience.

Moments like this are why you go on Fox News. VP Harris, talking at length about her plans to strengthen the economy and lower costs while Trump’s would spike inflation and explode deficits — things Fox viewers don’t usually get to hear about.
