For those who don't fully understand what is up with the NHS, here is a thread for you that might help. I'm a consultant physician working as a doctor in the NHS in Yorkshire and Wales for 32 years now. I have experienced the NHS at its best (2008) and its worst (2022).

Things the BBC News website hasn't reported... 1. The UK's largest tomato producer (650m/year) said part of the supply issue is definitely down to Brexit. 2. The UK's largest turnip grower has given up on growing turnips. Can't get the staff, because of Brexit.

I have read (and written) a fair few ministerial resignation letters in my time. Not sure I can recall one quite as brutal as this from ⁦Zac Goldsmith⁩ theguardian.com/politics/2023/…

The Tories are furious about the state of Britain today. Just wait until they find out who's been in power for the last 13 years.

Wow! - Yvette Cooper shreds the Rwanda bill. And every time there is an intervention, she knocks it out of the park with a home run. This is a masterclass is countering populist rhetoric, including the charge that Labour have no plan, which she answers in detail and succinctly.

Omg I’m TIRED of MPs saying NHS needs reform. Private hospitals don’t have A&E departments, they use NHS Drs in emergencies, they use NHS ambulances, they’re not equipped to look after the UK. Said before & I’ll say again… even if you’re private who’d you call in emergencies?
