Jack Smith spent more than 8 hours answering questions in a closed-door deposition before the House Judiciary Committee on Dec 17. It’s worth watching — you can see why Smith wanted to testify publicly — and why the committee waited until New Year’s Eve to release the video.

As horrible as it was to live through January 6, I remember feeling at the end of that day that decency had won. We did our Constitutional duty. And surely Americans would come together to say that a mob attacking cops and a president using violence to stay in power was wrong. 1/

In New York Times Opinion One year ago, President Trump took an oath to serve the American people. Instead, he used the presidency to enrich himself, the The New York Times editorial board writes. This is how Trump has pocketed at least $1.4 billion. nyti.ms/49uhAWW

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's speech at Davos is quite brilliant. Without vitriol or exaggeration, he outlines the harsh new world that Trump is leading us all toward. Here's the full text; much recommended: globalnews.ca/news/11620877/…

The government's stated rationale for this killing is that the victim was carrying a legal firearm. The very people that told us we need to accept mass child slaughter for the right to protect ourselves from scary Obama, now say the govt can kill you if you possess a weapon.

To be clear about what this depicts: An immigration officer threw a woman onto the ground. Alex Pretti, a registered nurse on scene as a legal observer, is filming and goes to help the woman up. He is then pepper sprayed and thrown to the ground for no discernible reason. Many

In any other time or presidency, this story. reported by The Wall Street Journal, would be an earthquake of a scandal. The size, scope and implications of it are unprecedented and mind-boggling. But will this Congress, which brayed endlessly about the "Biden crime family," probe it? Not a chance.

Yesterday I published the piece below and some folks said it was alarmist evidence of TDS (how anyone could say that after Jan. 6 boggles the mind). And today Trump says Republicans should take over the voting in multiple places. We're still too complacent.
