I had to stop by the Orion Spacecraft spacecraft exhibit at #IAC2022 to say hello to Deputy Program Manager Debbie Korth! #Artemis1
📷 More Photos: At 11:21 p.m. ET Monday, the NASA Artemis I Moon rocket left Launch Pad 39B atop crawler-transporter 2 and began its 4-mile trip to the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
Best wishes to my friends NASA's Kennedy Space Center; stay safe. I look forward to joining you soon for #Artemis I.
Teams at NASA's Kennedy Space Center have assessed impacts from Hurricane Ian & determined there was no damage to #Artemis I flight hardware. NASA will focus on the Nov. 12-27 launch period to give employees time for post-storm recovery & identify checkouts for launch go.nasa.gov/3SEvVoE
Join us on International Observe the Moon Night—and share how our cosmic companion inspires your stories, art and more with #ObservetheMoon. Hear from ARCHIVED - NASA Moon experts and tune into our broadcast at 7pm ET (2300 UTC): moon.nasa.gov/observe-the-mo…
"...Seeing that rocket roll out, seeing it on the launch pad, It is impressive.” I had the same feeling as Mark Vaccaro, our ARCHIVED: NASA_SLS solid rocket boosters structures and assembly team manager, watching our #Artemis I vehicle roll out. Learn about Mark: go.nasa.gov/3CpR8Mp
Under #Artemis, we'll build ARCHIVED: Gateway Lunar Space Station, a lunar space station where ARCHIVED NASA Astronauts can live and work, conducting valuable science to help us thrive in the deep space environment. Two Gateway habitats are in development: go.nasa.gov/3EFrd66
We've made significant progress for the early Artemis Orion capsules and recently ordered the production of three additional Orion Spacecraft spacecraft, capitalizing on efficiencies to improve production, lower costs, and allow for reusability. go.nasa.gov/3VNKw36
Batter up!⚾️ This launch and re-entry suit will protect astronauts when they launch to the Moon with NASA Artemis. We expect the teams to launch a ball or two into orbit tonight during the #WorldSeries.
Congrats to ARCHIVED: NASA_SLS & NASA Webb Telescope for being named TIME 2022 Inventions of the Year! As the world's most powerful rocket & space telescope, these two amazing innovations are changing how we explore space and inspiring new generations to reach for the stars. go.nasa.gov/3DXNhHc
I'm impressed by our #Artemis I team's dedication - their care for ARCHIVED: NASA_SLS and Orion Spacecraft is keeping us on track. Designing for this environment is challenging, and our design stood up to the test of the storm. We are pressing toward launch on Nov 16: go.nasa.gov/3hC0spN
