Matthew Crentsil, UNHCR Uganda Representative is in Rhino Camp and Imvepi refugee settlements to meet refugees, government and partners. The day’s activities have started with a courtesy call to the Office of the Prime Minister led by the Settlement commandant.
This evening, Matthew Crentsil, UNHCR Uganda Representative, arrived in the Yumbe district, which hosts the Bidibidi refugee settlement. He is now meeting with UNHCR Sub Office Yumbe staff, preparing for a field visit tomorrow.

Matthew Crentsil, UNHCR Uganda Representative, held a meeting with Mr. Asiku Abdul Mutwalib, the District Chairman-Yumbe DLG. Yumbe District is home to over 242,000 refugees living in the Bidibidi refugee settlements. In Uganda, Bidibidi is the largest refugee settlement.
Matthew Crentsil, UNHCR Uganda Representative, visited the AIRD workshop that services vehicles in the refugee response in the BidiBidi refugee settlement, Yumbe district.
In Bidibidi refugee settlement, Orkhan Nasibov, the UNHCR Sub Office Yumbe, introduced a greenhouse project that equips secondary school students with experience. Matthew Crentsil, UNHCR Uganda Representative, visited the facility and interacted with the students on holiday.
Among other livelihood projects started by UNHCR Sub Office Yumbe is the Fish farm. Matthew Crentsil, UNHCR Uganda Representative, visited the site and witnessed how the fish feed is prepared.
Matthew Crentsil, UNHCR Uganda Representative, has visited the Sebagoro landing site. This receives refugees from DRC that are transported to the Kyangwali refugee settlement.
Matthew Crentsil, UNHCR Uganda Representative, visited a refugee mushroom farm. The group is comprised of men, women, and the elderly.
