The Acting Vice Chancellor Dr. Umar Kakumba has hosted a delegation from Mississippi State University who are here for the HERS (Higher Education Resource Services) Third Academy July 1-6, 2019. HERS is one of the most compelling leadership development opportunities for women in higher education.




Thanks Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe & ur team for embracing local IT systems of our innovators. If more #MDAs can follow suit & cut on the appetite for procuring heavily priced foreign IT systems, our ecosystem would grow by leaps & bounds . The law to enforce this is in the pipeline Vincent Bagiire

The Acting Vice Chancellor Dr. Umar Kakumba joined by other members of Management, and the Spokesperson of Uganda Police Force are addressing members of the press, at the Senior Common Room, Main Administration Building.


The Acting Vice Chancellor Umar Kakumba, PhD hosted a delegation from Shandong Province, China. They discussed to expand collaboration between Makerere and Shandong, and continued support to the Confucius Institute at Makerere University.



Arrangements are being finalised for the Vice Chancellor Barnabas Nawangwe to meet Makerere alumni network in the United Kingdom. The meeting will be held in London at a venue to be communicated later. This communication informs all UK based alumni to follow Mak online for updates.
