Even before the pandemic, the 22 richest men in the world had more wealth than all the women in Africa. Economic investments must target women entrepreneurs & focus on social protections, education & decent work.

Vaccine inequality is allowing #COVID19 variants to develop & run wild, condemning the world to more deaths & prolonging an economic slowdown. Without a coordinated, equitable approach, a reduction of cases in any one country will not be sustained over time.

Visited #Garbahaarey today and met with the Governor and #IDP reps. The situation is very dire. All interlocutors confirmed that the current wave of #drought has not been seen since 1974. Families lost entire livelihoods. Action is needed now to prevent further loss of life.
